It doesn't have to be this way
Sitting in a hotel room in Chicago. John "Breck Girl" Edwards is doing his best to avoid crashing and burning in prime time at LurchFest 2004. The theme of his speech seems to be "It Doesn't Have To Be This Way".
You know something, John? You're right. It doesn't have to be this way. We don't have to live with the fact that a blood sucking, job destroying, silver tongued trail lawyer as a Vice President.
So far you've promised to raise the minimum wage (a time tested job killer), provide universal health care (did you learn nothing from Hillary?), and government funded higher education for everyone. All paid for by soaking, yet again, the rich by rolling back the W tax cuts. I'm no economist, and certainly not an accountant, but even a fool can see through your worn out, tired, and foolish argument.
So, Breck Girl, you're right. It doesn't have to be this way. It definitely doesn't have to be your way.
I've seen many a convention speech in my short time upon this earth watching the political stage. My advice to you is simple. Steer clear of fire extinguishers. Some do-gooder might want to put out those flames.
And, by the way, the fact that you wrap yourself in the heroism of those who fight to defend this nation, and liberty in general, despite the fact that you voted against the very funding they depend on sickens me. I dare to say I am not alone in this feeling. You can't have it both ways, Breck Girl.
Bring it on.
