Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. Republic is one of those words. - John Wayne

Jesse Jackson - So Close, But So Far Away
by Cordeiro
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. In the Reverend Jesse Jackson's case, perhaps he can be right only once in a single statement.

Jesse has traveled to Florida to comfort the family of Terri Schiavo. Reverend Jackson is attracted to cameras, and was thus obliged to make a statement.

In one breath he called the actions of the court "cold" and proclaimed that "the law must be tempered with mercy to bring about justice." Bravo Reverend. Well said.

Obviously not knowing when to stop, he then released a statement calling on the supporters of Terri to bring the "same passion" for Terri to the Fight Against World Hunger.

I couldn't make up stuff like this if I tried.

Ummm, Reverend, hunger stems from many causes not the least of which include poverty, disease, famine, and strife. Terri Schiavo suffers from none of these. The only thing she suffers from currently is her "husband" - backed up by a runaway activist, death centered judiciary.

When you run out of things to say, best to shut your pie hole.

Here endeth the lesson.
