Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. Republic is one of those words. - John Wayne

Well, Even A Little Compliment Helps
by Cordeiro
President George W. Bush, affectionately referred to by the SOTR as "Dubya", delivered a stunning compliment to North Korea's Kim Jong "Mentally" Il today.

W referred to the mentally unbalanced leader as "Mister".

No, I am not making this up.

Of course, the Washington Post might be. They do refer to an "unnamed North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman" quoted in the Korean Central News Agency.

Said North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman responded to this quote from W regarding his Gentle Leader:

It's a matter of continuing to send a message to Mr. Kim Jong Il that if you want to be accepted by the neighborhood and be a part of ... those who are viewed with respect in the world, work with us to get rid of your nuclear weapons program.
with this statement:
If Bush's remarks put an end to the scramble between the hawkish group and the moderate group in the U.S., which has thrown the Korean policy into a state of confusion, it would help create an atmosphere of the six-party talks.
Of course, the 15 F-117A Nighthawk fighters recently deployed to South Korea might have something to do with the deranged North Koreans expressing a desire to return to the negotiating table.

I'm still looking for a Texan to English dictionary to find the Texan definition of "Mister". I'm pretty sure it might be polite, but it is in now way appeasatory.

Here endeth the lesson.

I can only hope it's "Now listen here Mister". I hope President Bush isn't going to start sending worshipful gifts to the dead dad former ruler. This is one cult that needs to drink its own coolaid and disappear.
