Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. Republic is one of those words. - John Wayne

Al "Cheap Shot" Franken Bombs Again
by Cordeiro
In his never ending quest to enter the realm of relevance, Al "Cheap Shot" Franken was a guest on David Letterman last night. Franken was there to plug his book, which I will not name nor link to here. Doing so might cause someone to accidentally buy it.

Letterman's New York audience was no doubt shocked to find out Franken is a radio talk show host. No mention was made of Air America Radio's plunging ratings and questionable financials.

Unable to find anything else to talk about "Cheap Shot" Franken declared that "Big Time" Cheney's Chief of Staff "Scooter" Libby and Karl "Sith Lord" Rove were soon to be executed for their role in the alleged leaking of an alleged covert CIA officer. I'm not making this up. I'm not taking it out of context. If I were to make a joking reference to Franken's impending execution, I'm sure his lawyers would be on me before the post was finished.

Newsbusters has the transcript. Political Teen has the video.

"Cheap Shot" Franken has no facts upon which to base his allegations regarding the guilt of Rove or Libby. He, like most of the MSM, is busy praying to whatever Gods they can to bring about something with which to hang Rove and Libby - and by proxy W.

Franken just does an exceptionally bad job at it - which is par for the course where he is concerned.

Al, we're not laughing with you. We're laughing at you - and even that laughter is polite.

Here endeth the lesson.

how is she an alleged covert CIA agent? The CIA itself has said she was covert. Don't you think they would know the status of their own agents?

Actually, if you SAW the bit,
you know that Franken was getting
big laughs, though he was just there
to plug his new book, The Truth (with jokes).
Franken has become the master of finding
homur in the sad facts of the current
administration. Had the Clintonistas
outed an American serving undercover on
WMD for political gain, the Right Wing
Noise Machine would be furious,
and demanding that heads roll.
But since their team did it, suddenly
treason against the U.S. isn't anything
worth caring about. Ahh, intellectual dishonesty
and values only as a political slogan.
Come on now...this interview was funny. Get over yourself.
truth hurts...especially when it is so funny! It's all starting to catch up. You can only lie, cheat and steal for so long. Seriously. no matter your party affiliation, this is treason!
Hey all you Bush haters,Kiss my Irish conserv ass !!!

Not true. You didn't actually watch the whole segment, did you?

Fact of the matter is that Plame-Wilson wasn't within the 6 month window of clandestine activity and everyone knows it, but your emotional and pitiful, hate America and its leadership first attitudes won't let you look at it objectively.

Way back when-when this story initially broke and we only knew it was Joe Wilson's wife had been "leaked", John Kerry gave his fire and brimstone oration on the senate floor and actually said Valarie Plame - which as we all know is her clandestine name. Valarie Wilson is her legal name, like when she shows up at PTA meetings with her 5 yr old twins - the Wilson twins.

Does anybody actually care that Kerry had a brain-fart on C-SPAN? Anybody care to research her clandestine activity at Brewster, Jennings & Assoc.? Didn't think so, bunch of dolts.
I saw the segment, he didn't bomb, they did talk about Air America, and he got huge laughs. Please actually watch the segment before you write anything, you'll avoid looking like a complete jackass.
Plame was not "undercover" as defined by statute. She was a desk jockey. Therefore, no laws were broken.

What show were you all watching? Bombed? I suggest you Wingnuts watch the video - he hardly bombed. The audience was right there with him and Dave all the way...
The the poster above me - it takes one to know one - and you sure do sound like the typical Republican Nancy Boy...

anonymous should have just said"I'm a dipshit"

That would have been more pithy (and grammatically correct)
I'm glad to see that the creator of this blog has no sense of satire.
Your right, the Commie Dave and his marxist audience was right up there with the wonderful humor of herr Franklin. Most of the posts here are garbage spewing forth the propaganda required by Dean and Pelosi. Bunch of nutjobs with no ideas, no direction other than "we hate George Bush." The slogan isn't going to be real useful when the no-agenda-libs and dems get there asses kicked in yet another election.

Laffter/applause sign was left on
for all of Frankass's appearance.
Letterman is an asshole.
Really, get over it. Sheez, the right can dish it out, but PLEASE DON'T HIT US IN THE FACE! What a bunch of humorless crybabies.

The thing that I find most dismaying about much of the right (and much of the left), is their total inability to own up to any mistake, to any fault, to any prudent change of course.

Also, if this site professes to be so "patriotic" and willing for war, do you really think a quote from John Wayne is appropriate? After all, this was a guy who, during WWII, ignored both director John Ford's pleading and the nation's interests to enlist in the armed services, preferring instead to advance his movie career. Yes, he had a deferrment, and so did millions of other volunteers. He loved playing heroes, but he doesn't have any stree cred at all--a political piker who thought Vietnam was a good idea.

Al Franken is no comedian! He wasn't funny when he was.
I think the fact there have been so many posts removed from this thread, says it all...
The reason so many comments have been removed from this thread is because they contained profanity or were otherwise offensive.

As you can see, I don't mind people commenting on my views, but I do require the comments to actually make a point as opposed to ad homenim attacks.

If you have a problem with this, find some other blog to comment on.
